What tasks do you undertake in your role?
My main responsibility lies in managing internal controls throughout the Group. This can involve drafting of policy and procedure where required and ensuring compliance though a combination of continuous reporting measures or via audit.
Additional responsibility may lie in managing our audits of third parties such as Joint Venture Partners who operate licences on our behalf and also third party supplier contracts. Further duties involve review of areas throughout the Group where we may search for methods to increase financial and/or fiscal efficiency.
What do you like about your job?
The role provides a great deal of variety and the chance to understand the activities undertaken throughout the entire Group. The period I have worked here has seen a lot of project activity that provides a great deal of opportunity but also requires careful control. As a result this has given me the opportunity to work across the majority of the operations in terms of both geography and discipline, working internally and externally to the company, and it is this breadth of experience that has been the most rewarding aspect of the job.
What you like about working for Salamander?
During my time here I have found the company has a very positive and ambitious outlook, reflected in its employees, and is always looking forward in its endeavours to add value for the Group and its stakeholders. I greatly appreciate working across the diverse range of disciplines and cultures inherent within the organisation and the supportive and co-operative nature of my colleagues.
