Use of cookies by Salamander Energy plc

When someone visits the Salamander Energy plc website we collect standard internet log information and details of visitor behaviour patterns.  We do this to find out things such as the number of visitors to various parts of the website and ultimately to enhance user experience.  We do not collect personal data or personally identifiable information through our website.

Google Maps  These cookies are used by Google to generate images for maps (to show you where our jobs are) or to generate a CAPTCHA images to help protect our site from “spambots”.
Session (JSESSIONID) Session cookies are generated on all our sites by default. These will contain a single session ID to tie the user to their session. This allows us to differentiate between users who are logged in and those who are not, to allow different access, content and functionality depending on the users permissions. (In other words, we require the session cookie to work to be able to login to the CMS and update the site.) The session cookie may also be required in order to enable certain functionality to work - e.g. Zip Manager, Contact Form validation. We do not use these session cookies to log or track any information about a user or their behaviour. The session cookies are not used for Statistics. The session cookie will only last for the duration of the user accessing the website.

Load balancing cookie. This cookie is essential to help ensure that the website loads efficiently by distributing visits across multiple web servers. The cookie does not contain any personal information, and only lasts for the duration of your visit, being deleted as soon as you close your web browser.
