Block 31

Salamander has been awarded a 60% operated interest in Block 31. The block is located immediately adjacent to Salamander's 100% operated Cuu Long River Delta Block-01 PSC in southern Vietnam.

The Block is adjacent to the prolific Cuu Long Basin which includes the giant Bach Ho field which is now in decline. The acreage is largely unexplored with potential for the development of a high quality oil prone source rock and several potential reservoirs and trap types.

In 2009 Salamander captured 2D seismic across the block and identified numerous leads and prospects. The Tom Hum Xanh-1 exploration well will spud in Q3 2010 targeting 82 Mmboe (Gross mean resources) and has a 15% CoS. In December 2009, Salamander farmed out 25% of Block 31 to Origin Energy.
