Block L26/50

Salamander was awarded block L26/50 as part of the Thai 20th Licensing Round in December 2007.

The concession is on the west bank of the Mekong river adjacent to Salamander's Savannakhet PSC in Lao PDR. The Non Chan 2 lead is thought to extend from Savannakhet into Block L26/50. There have been no wells drilled on the block but the closest to be drilled to date (Non Sung-1) by Esso in 1982 had good gas shows indicating the presence of an active source rock. Salamander has completed a 2D seismic survey over the licence that identifies 3 structures similar to the Bang Nouan structure across the river in the Savannakhet PSC, Lao PDR. In December 2009, Salamander farmed out 40% of Block L26/50 to Origin Energy
