South East Sumatra

The Southeast Sumatra PSC is the largest oil development offshore of Indonesia. The PSC is located in shallow water (17-55 m) in the Java sea off the south-eastern coast of Sumatra. The PSC covers two basins, the Asri and Sunda basins, both of which are prolific producers, thanks to the presence of high quality source rocks. The PSC covers approximately 8,100 sq. km, and is heavily developed with oil and gas infrastructure. The gas is now conserved and the PSC started gas sales in May 2006 to the state utility PLN.

Ongoing work programmes comprise secondary recovery of floodwater schemes, infill drilling, well maintenance and workover programmes as well as marginal field additions. There is still some additional exploration potential remaining in the PSC.
