South East Sangatta is located in the Kutei basin, East Kalimantan and is immediately adjacent to and east of Salamander's operated Bontang PSC. It covers an area of 3,168 sq. km and there is a firm three year commitment for completion of a 3D seismic survey and drilling of one exploration well.
Salamander holds a 75% operated interest in the South East Sangatta PSC. The licence is adjacent to the Bontang PSC where the Group had success with the Angklung-1 exploration well in 4Q 2010.
A 3D seismic survey was completed in 1H 2011 and initial indications are that the prospectivity confirmed by the Angklung-1 well in the Bontang PSC continues into the SE Sangatta licence with some large prospects apparent from the fast tracked volume of the 3D data.
The Group is planning an extensive drilling programme on multiple prospects across the Bontang and SE Sangatta licences in 2012
