Offshore North West Java

The ONWJ PSC was first awarded in 1967 and exploration and drilling commenced in 1968. The PSC contains a complex of some 56 oil and gas fields and is located immediately offshore to the northwest of the Indonesian capital city of Jakarta. Over 570 exploration wells have been drilled with high success rates of between 30% and 35%. The good quality of the oil, high initial flow rates and high recovery factors combined with the extensive infrastructure has meant that production from the PSC has been relatively low cost.
