The Salamander operated Glagah-Kambuna TAC covers approximately 86,300 acres and is located offshore North Sumatra. The TAC contains the Kambuna gas and condensate field which was brought onstream in August 2009.
The field was discovered in 1986 and first appraised in 2005. The gas and condensate in the field is reservoired dolomitic sandstones of the Lower Miocene Belumai formation. The field has an element of stratigraphic closure demonstrated by gas being present at the Kambuna-2 well location below structural closure. The Kambuna-1 well penetrated approximately 30 metres of gas pay at a depth of approximately 2,200 metres. The Kambuna-2 well, located 1.6 km northeast of the discovery well penetrated the same reservoir some 30 metres down dip of the Kambuna-1 location. The reservoir sandstone has a porosity of approximately 20 per cent and permeability in excess of 100mD.
The Glagah-Kambuna TAC also contains the Glagah light oil discovery, Kambuna North and Northwest, and West Glagah prospects.
