Spudding of Si That-3 Appraisal Well

Salamander Energy plc, the Asia focussed independent oil and gas exploration and production company, announces the spudding of the Si That-3 appraisal well in Block L13/48, Khorat Basin, Northeast Thailand. Salamander holds a 16.3% interest in Block L13/48.

The Si That discovery is a gas accumulation approximately 30 km east of the producing Sinphuhorm field. The Si That-3 well will appraise the Permian carbonates of the Pha Nok Khao formation. The mean gross pre-drill estimate of prospective recoverable gas resources is approximately 1.4 Tcf.

The appraisal well will be drilled by the MB Century 26 rig and is planned to a total depth of 2,800 metres sub-sea, and is forecast to take approximately 50 days to drill on a dry-hole basis.
